Although there was a healthy forcast for rain it did not. But it might have been welcomed since the humidity was so high we were sweating heavily just sitting in our jeeps. We had a few folks come and talk about our jeeps in depth. Madison and I had some time to catch up on news and upcoming club events. Just before the parade started we had a lady who is running for a political post asked if she could hitch a ride ti the parade start location. She wanted to get out there and walk the route to hand out handbills. Neither of us had a problem with that. It was a little embarrassing for me at least she stayed up with the flow declaring with to the crowd “ This is 1SG H and Msg H; Msg H is a Vietnam Vet” Once the parade started it was a typical La Grange parade. When we hit the announcement location they gave us a 1st Place Plaque for Best Car Club, 1st Place Plaque for Best Antique Truck to Jim H and 2nd Place Plaque to Madison H for Best Antique Truck. We cleaned up.
It was a good crowd as usual for the small town parades. After Madison took the lady back to her vehicle and returned to the download spot we took our time loading due to the heat. As we were loading, Jackie W drove up. We had a good chat with him getting an update on his medical condition. (Improving but still having problems)
