After Action Report Service for SGT LaDell Jensen

Event: Memorial Service

Event Purpose: Honor a Family Member Solder

Date: Saturday 4th June, 2022

Location: Harris Ranch Cedar Creek, Bastrop County Texas.

Request from MSG John Harris (RET.) for support of a memorial service for his Father-in law SGT. LaDell Jensen, U.S. Army, 1950 thru 1953 and served in Korea era conflict.

SGT. Jensen was a heavy equipment repairman with the 579 ORD HAM Co. Sgt. Jensen DOB was 1930 and DOD 2021.

At the time of his death there were no Honors at his funeral. SGM Gary Mayers (RET.) organized this event with the assistance from the Patriot Guard Riders. A procession from Bastrop to the event was led by the Patriot Guard Riders Captain and joined by several American Legion Riders.

During the Ceremony SGT. Jensen’s Daughter, Janis Laid to rest his ashes in a small plot on the Ranch Property.

The weather was good, somewhat hot, No rain. Madison H of the club was the only club member present. The event went well with Taps and flag folding ceremony provided by two US Army personal. LSMVPA club provided the M16 (memorial) rifle stuck in the sand bags with dog tags and helmet. Madison H provided the US flag and the Texas flag.

Memorial service were attended and supported by three Patriot Guard members of the Central Texas Organization. They were supported by a member of Post 533 of the Bastrop American Legion and husband of SGT. Jensen’s granddaughter, Carrying six flags at attention during the taps and flag folding. The flag was presented to SGT. Jensen’s daughter Janis.

Madison H was requested to bring his Korea era 1953 M38A1 jeep as part of the ceremony. The jeep was a big hit.

After the ceremony all present where invited by the family to attend the meal around the Ranch Swimming pool. Very good sandwiches and beverages were available. It was a very nice visit with the family. MSG. John Harris (RET) thanked the LSMVPA and Madison H for our presents.
