Event: 4th Annual Show and Shine car show
Date: Saturday, April 30th
Location: Sundance Ranch, Liberty Hill
Despite heavy rains in the past 24 hours, the word was passed at 0600
that the show was on. The grounds, in fact, were quite solid and no
mud issues effected the show.
Military vehicle participation was limited to Panda and Rowdy in the
M1009 pulling the M116A3 HSTRU trailer, and Rory in the M931A2 pulling
Clint's MKT trailer.
The MKT was set up to cook/serve hamburgers to garner interest and
some donations for the car club sponsoring the event. The trailer
itself was of interest to some veterans attending the show, and one
young gentleman generously gave quite a bit of his time at the end of
the show to assist in folding the MKT back up.
The event went well, in fine sunny weather, with a lot of vehicles on show.
One item of particular interest was a "racing lawnmower" that is
reportedly capable of 70mph! Judging by his performance on departure,
I'm left with the impression that claim is likely true.
The M931 was awarded the Organizer's Choice trophy.
