Where - Central Texas Veterans Cemetery, Killeen
Former LSMVPA member Tim "Hawk" Doyal left us quietly on December 2nd, 2014. Tim was active in the club until ill health prevented participation.
He was laid to rest in the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery. Sam R and Rory C represented LSMVPA at the funeral, and bid their friend a fond farewell.
Tim's parents and brothers all shared how happy Tim had been to find the LSMVPA, and how much the fellowship he received with us meant to him. They thanked the club and all the members for having given so much joy to Tim.
Tim served as a Navy Corpsman, and as a US Marine. The Marines provided an honour guard, who performed their task splendidly, including a flawless taps.
Tim had earlier sold his vehicle, an M1009, to another member when he could no longer maintain it. The vehicle is active, and will continue with the club for the foreseeable future. It will be marked with a hawk stencil, in remembrance of Tim.
