Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes 16 September 2009

Quartermaster Report: John K. reported the costs associated with purchasing new T-shirts. Club members decided to order 36 T-shirts in the current design in various sizes and colors. John K will place the order.
Treasurer's Report: Rory C. the present balance in the account.
Web Site Update: Rick H. reported that the vehicles , awards, and events areas have been updated. Additionally, he reported that the fee for the club domain name for the web is due at a cost of $114.95 for five years He will renew the domain and present the receipt to the treasurer at the next meeting.
Newsletter Update: Rick H reported that the newsletter will be published by the end of the month.
Recent Events:
All Era Militaria Yard Sale 29-30: Sam R reported that the sale was not well attended.
USMC Deployment: Scott P, Sam R, Rick H, Tim W. showed up with their vehicles. The USMC showed with a great 7 ton truck and three HMMWV’s. G Company displayed various military items, and conducted a good demonstration. The event was well attended by families. The club was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation.
Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:
Fort Worth Militaria Sale, 18-20 September. Additional information available at http://www.ftworthmilitariashow.com/ .
POW/MIA Recognition 18 September: This event starts at 1100 hours at the Texas State Cemetery.
Texas Transportation Museum 26 September: the AMVPA is San Antonio is hosting this event on the 26 September. 15 vehicles are expected to show.
Gonzales Parade 3 October: This is one of the biggest and best parades that we participate in. Plan to arrive at the football stadium parking lot NLT 0830. those that want to convoy from Danny K’s meet prior to 0615 at his house. The uniform is club t’s. we plan on stopping for BBQ after the parade.
CAF Air Show 10-11 October: Midland.
Leander BBQ 17-18 October: Red T. briefed the members on the Leander event. We may start arriving on Friday for the Saturday and Sunday BBQ event. Billeting and mess facilities are provided. The address of the event is 8760 FM 2243, Leander TX 78641.
Leander Classic Car Cruise-in, 24 October: Free event in Leander from 1 to 8 PM at Gateway in Leander Shopping Center. Uniform is club t’s.
Hutto Veterans Day Display, 9-11 November: set up is scheduled for the 9th. The display will be the 10t5h and tear-down will be after the parade on the 11th. Assistance from any and all members is needed. This is a great event and the school kids seem to really like it.
Veterans Day Parade 11 November: Plan to arrive prior to 0730 to line up on the bridge. We may have additional riders during the parade. Fred H asked that we wear class A uniforms. The theme this year is : Honoring Military Families.
Veterans Day Tree Planting, 14 November: This year’s ceremony is at Walnut Creek Park. Uniform is military.
RAFB Air Show 7-8 November: Details TBD.
