Event: Veterans Day Parade
Status Tentative
Date: 11 November
Location: Austin, Texas
Coordinator: Danny K
Contact # 512.385.0168
Synopsis:

An annual event, the club makes every effort to bring increasing numbers of vehicles and veterans each year for this 2 mile parade up Congress Ave and back.  We typically gather at the Austin American Statesman parking lot on the South end of the Congress Ave. bridge.  We then stage on the Congress Ave bridge entering from the South.  After the parade, we gather back at the Austin American Statesman, load up and depart.

Details: The folks in charge would like for the motorized units to stage first on the bridge to cut down on the possibility of folks getting run over. What that means to us is that we need to form up in the parking lot and get on the bridge between 0700 and 0730. We will be departing the TxDot lot at 7:30am!.  Once staged on the bridge we get to wait again until about 0900 and we will not know our staging location until we hit the bridge. If you are inviting passengers, they can meet us in the parking lot or on the bridge and either return them to our starting point or let them off at the Capitol for the rest of the happenings.

Trailers/Parking:
Since the 11th is on a Thursday the Statesman will be working so that parking lot will not be available. However since it is a holiday the TxDot lot should be available. TxDot is located next to the Statesman and behind the Sonic. Bad news is everyone else will be there too so be early, especially if you have tow vehicles or trailers.
