Event: Camp Mabry Change of Command

Location: Camp Mabry Texas.
On Saturday 12 Jan 19, Ed H. and I participated in the Change of Command Ceremony at Camp Mabry. MG John Nichols was retiring and being replaced by incoming MG Tracy Norris. Ed and I represented the Lone Star MVPA and each had our vehicles there along with other assorted pieces of military vehicles and aircraft on static display.
Personnel from the various units attached to the 36th and Camp Mabry were present along with a very long list of politicians and dignitaries including the Camp Mabry Buffalo Soldiers. Ed also participated in the time line representing the 36th ID activity through the 19 - 20th century. One interesting note, the wife and daughter of MG Nichols each received a bouquet of yellow roses while the husband of MG Norris received a bottle of Four Roses. A receiving line and reception for each of the Major Generals followed the ceremony. Submitted by Danny K. Lone Star MVPA
