July 4th was the date for the annual Lakeway Independence Day Parade. A possibility of raining on our parade that day but the weather gods were with us and no rain until late that afternoon which worked out great for early morning parades. A good turnout of vehicles with multiple M37s, jeeps and one mechanical mule all of which made it possible to transport our Vietnam Vets to the parade starting point. Lakeway has a very high density of retired military and in all, it is a very patriotic community. As we traveled down the approximate mile parade route the road was lined with cheering spectators for our vets and everyone loved seeing the historic military vehicles. After the parade the we were welcomed by the Vets to a breakfast at Maudie's Restaurant a as thank you for providing transportation for them the the parade starting point. This is a definite event on the schedule for next year as we have done many years in the past.
