Event: Central Texas Airshow
Date: Friday May 6th-Sunday May 8th
Location: Temple, Texas

Our annual 3-day event at the Temple airshow.
On Friday and Saturday, it was sunny, warm, but windy. The actual airshow was better than last year, and it seemed the crowd was bigger. We set out a good display, and hosted a lot of visitors.

Sunday, Mother Nature intervened, as she sometimes does during this event. Because of the possibility of nasty weather, early on we decided not to put a lot of our display items back out, followed shortly by the decision to take down the camo nets and pack up all the rest of the gear when rain became a certainty. We did manage to get everything put away before the rain arrived.
We still got quite a few visitors before the rain got heavy.

The hardy, or dedicated, few LSMVPA folks left watched the much abbreviated Sunday show in semi-dryness under a pop-up set in the lee of the M185.

We had a brief visit from a Texas Lined Snake, but he was caught by Charlie, and removed by Rory to the long grass.

While many of our regulars could not attend this year, we had a good turnout. This included Barry F, Dan D, JD H, Sam R, Madison H, Jim H, Domingo M, Matthew W, Charlie S, Panda B, Caitlin C, Rory C, Steve E, Andy S, Robert C. We also had new members attending their first event with us - Carl D, Brent, Matt T, Jackie W, and James W.

A big thank you to Charlie S, who cooked breakfast for us both days, and lunch Saturday (Sunday lunch was rained out). And to Manuel P/NS Army Navy Store on N. Lamar, who loaned us the big barbeque trailer at no charge.

Vehicles displayed included two M1009s, two M185A3s, M37, M38, M151A1, M151A2, M274A5 mule, M998 Humvee, M29 Weasel, M1102 trailer, M101 trailer.

Also displayed were an M3 half-track and a WC62, but these did not belong to LSMVPA.
