This event was for the annual USAA Employee and Family Appreciation Day. The group met at 1430 and convoyed to USAA down the access road of I-10 and met our POC at Gate 4. Due to potential rain there was not a lot of gear set up just the vehicles. We were positioned beside the USMC contingent and their HMMWVs and MTVR led the crowds right to where we were positioned. The event went from 1600 to 2000 with free food and beverages for everyone. We only got rained on a couple of times and it was more a misty drizzle than anything else. This is a great event, and if available next year, well worth the drive down from Austin for other club members. A considerable number of USAA employees are former military and obviously have a great deal of contact with current and former military through their business so is quite enjoyable showing them the vehicles. As a bonus we were provided a stipend for fuel. That plus the free food adds to the benefit of the show.
