Saturday 9 Nov. was the Elgin VFW Parade and Veteran's Weekend. Being one of many celebrations that weekend our numbers for each event was small but well appreciated by everyone. Saturday started out a cloudy and rainy morning which kept a lot of the fair weather participants and well wishers at home but the show must go on. Attending along with me were Sid, Domingo, James and new member Del Woods. After the parade we headed over to the VFW Hall to set up our static displays along with local Fire, DPS, S O, a HUMMVEE from Camp Swift and the Bastrop SWAT Team. After lunch the clouds gave way to sunny skies but by then the damage had been done so everyone called it a day about 1330 hrs, headed home to regroup for the next event. We left with an open invitation to return next year.
