The Lone Star MVPA arrived in Bastrop Texas around 8:00 Saturday November 9th 2013. Madison H & Dan C convoyed Madison’s two vehicles from his home in Cedar Creek TX to down town Bastrop Dan C drove the 1953 M37A1, ¾ ton Dodge radio truck and Madison drove the M38a1 Radio Wills Jeep! The show is put on by the Bastrop Downtown Business Alliance Bastrop DBA 906 Main St. #123 Bastrop TX, 78602. Car show info: Carshow@bastropdba.org All fees, Registration and Judging were waived by the Event management for the Lone Star MVPA! Our Location was On Main street in the Post Office Annex parking lot! This is our second Year for this location. The weather was rainy early in the morning but by 10:00 Am it was clearing! The rest of the day the weather was great! Madison H and Dan C. Set up a medium size display of 5 tables of items of military interest! Also Robert R was in place when we arrived his display was exposed to the rain but Robert just smiled and carried on the mission. He had a very good display! We all visited with the people coming to the car show. We had a large number of Veterans come by and we herd many war stories! Larry S (a non- Member) asked if he could join our display with his 2 1/2 ton truck and of course we said yes! Larry is interested in joining our club and will attend our next meeting! The car show was large with more than 200 vehicles! Lots of vendors and food of all kinds! I invited several veterans and some kids to ride in the upcoming Austin Veterans parade! This was a Fair to Good event and should be considered next year! More members should attend next year! The date of this event was a conflict with several other events!
