The Lone Star MVPA was present with 4 vehicles. The Event started at 8:30 AM with judging at 1:00 pm and awards at 4:00 PM. Our reserved location was under the trees again and we were in the shade most of the day! The car show was a fund raiser for the Church Youth program. The entry fee was $15. It was a great place for a car show. I would estimate about 80 classic car and trucks not as many as last year. The lower attendance was 30% chance of rain and another car show in Austin! Madison H drove his 1953 M37 56 miles round trip for the event. J.D. S of Corpus Christi showed up with his 1942 ford jeep. Sid M and brother Domingo M brought Sid’s 1962 M37 which won a first place before the day was over! Danny K brought his USAF Blue M37 with stuffed guard dog! Bobby M and family brought their Humvee with 50 cal. Madison H brought his 1953 M37 and large display. Thanks to the members in attendance for helping Madison with his display! They were a big help putting away stuff before the rain! The displays were big hits with the visitors. Other club members present were Dan C, Charlie S and Charlie W. They helped with the display and answered questions. Charlie W. added his 30 cal 1919A4 machine gun to the display! All the people were friendly and offered food and drink through the day. We ate from their food tables as additional support to there Youth fund.
This was a very lay back event with us taking turns watching the vehicles and letting the others checked out the cars at the show. Around 100 pm the judges came by and unlike last year they had added category for military vehicles.
Around 3:30 PM, things slowed down and we decided to pack up.
This was a good event and the clubs mission and name were presented to lots of interested people! I feel next year will be a good event for the club to attend!
