Battle of Nancy Photos

Start Over

What a busy weekend with two huge events over three days for us starting with Waxahachie. The Servi-Car with company arrived on the afternoon of the 9th giving us some time to ride the streets and hit the pud before dark. The recon found the area was target rich and the enemy was well equiped and armed. There were a good number of vehicles on hand with some new ones both well manned and armed with heavy weapons. I can't believe that we only managed to take a few photos. However, I'm adding a link where you will find very many great photos of the event. It will take a number of days before all of the groups photos will be loaded so check it often for a while.

Sadly with the war taking it's toll on the area there were fewer activities to take part in as in years past however, I did run into many good buddies from the past. I also ran into Hugh and Sue H. as they were setting up their medical tent. I hope they have some photos to added. On the 10th the black market was very busy and the local USO ladies set up a refreashment stand for the troops. In one of my photos you will see that we ran into a Russian outfit and I'm learning ballet from the female Commander. Just before 1500hrs our forces found the enemy holding a rail head at the edge of the town. This was their last chance to get back to Germany. With the war so close to an end it didn't take long before the Germans throw up their hands.

Blanca and I moved out soon after to be ready the next morning with Lone Star on the Bridge for the Veterans Day Parade. That was huge and lots of fun as well.
