The Lone Star MVPA was present with two club members with vehicles and third member came to see the show vehicles. The Event started at 8:30 AM with judging at 100 pm and awards at 4:00 PM. Our location was under the trees and we were in the shade most of the day! The car show was a fund raiser for the Church Youth program. The entry fee was $15. It was a great place for a car show. I would estimate about 100 classic car and trucks. Madison H drove his 1953 M37 56 miles round trip for the event. J.D. H. of Corpus Christi showed up with his 1942 ford jeep. Both members had display items in addition to the Vehicles. The displays were big hits with the visitors. Dan C, one of our new members showed up and visited for most of the day! All the people were friendly and offered food and drink through the day. We ate from there food tables as additional support to there Youth fund.
This was a very lay back event with us taking turns watching the vehicles and letting the others checked out the car’s at the show. Around 100 pm the judges came by and were not sure what category to put military vehicles in. They decided to put us in the Specialty Class. At 400 pm the Awards were given out. Madison H was awarded -Best Specialty Award- trophy. Sadly JD H did not win anything for his long drive! But his vehicle was still a big hit!
Around 4:30 PM, thing slowed down and J.D and I decided to pack up.
This was a good event and the clubs mission and name were presented to lots of interested people! I feel next year this will be a good event for the club to attend!
