The first weekend in May is the time for the annual CAF Air Show in Temple. This is a three day show at it's best. We have participated in this show for more years that I have been a member of MVPA and is one I particularly look forward to each year. With a Friday night, Saturday and Sunday show it is a long weekend but well worth it. The show usually starts of with RC aircraft demos, then a combination of CAF planes and modern aircraft all showing off their flying abilities and stunts with WW II and Vietnam reenactments thrown in for good measure. This is another excellent turnout from our members with 15 to 20 vehicles and assorted equipment on display. With our mess sergeant in action again providing meals, most of the guys make it a three day camp out but for me after 50 years of Boy Scouts and a year of tent camping in Nam I prefer the comforts of the Holiday Inn. If you haven't done this event with us yet be sure to mark your calendars for 2011.
