Event: Liberty Hill Christmas Parade
Date: December 5 2010
Location: Liberty Hill, Texas

This parade has now become another annual event for us. It is not a big town, but just about everyone who lives there comes out to watch. The military vehicles are always very popular with the crowd. We always enjoy this one. This year we won 1st place!

This year we had Panda driving David C’s M1009 appropriately decked out with Rudolph nose and antlers; Sam R and Charles H with their M1009s pulling M101A2 trailers (entertainingly enough, the woodland camo 1009 has a desert trailer, and the desert tan 1009 has a woodland camo one). Sam had Christmas lights rigged in the grill of his 1009. Lee K brought his Humvee. Scott and Mrs P, and Clint D with his younglings brought their M35A2s; Ed H brought his M35 gun truck with Barry F and a friend as gun crew. Rory C and Patrick brought the M813A1 5-ton.

I suppose because I am so used to it, I usually don’t see the 5-ton as being a big truck, but we were all rather struck by the size difference when the M1009s were parked next to it at dinner after the parade. It really is rather large!
