Event: Liberty Hill Christmas Parade
Date: Dec 6 2009
Location: Liberty Hill, Texas

This now-annual club event is not the biggest parade we do, but is a fun one. Seems like the whole town comes out, rain or shine. Early in the day it looked like it would be rain, and cold, but the weather gods were kind and gave us a few hours reprieve.

All of those participating gathered at the Farm beforehand to unload some new trailers, then convoyed up to Liberty Hill. It was an impressive sight with the two small trucks as escorts front and rear, and the big trucks in a line between them.

John SS finally debuted his M1003 15-ton 8x8 truck, and it was an impressive sight! Once lined up at the start point, a small ceremony was held during which Rory passed the “biggest vehicle in the club” crown to John.

Sam and Rory made much smaller splashes debuting their newly acquired M105A3 1.5 ton trailers.

After the parade, we all went to a local restaurant for supper, then all departed on their separate ways into the foggy night. A good time, and a worthwhile event.

Participating were- David C in Caitlin’s M1009; Clint D and kids in his M35A2, with Panda as a passenger; Scott P and wife in his M35A2; Sam S in his M35A2 with M105A3 trailer; John SS and Michelle in the M1003; Rory C and Patrick in the M813A1 with M105A3 trailer; and Tim D in Sam’s M1009 bringing up the rear.
