Lakeway Independence Day Parade |
Date: |
July 4 2009 |
Location: |
Lakeway, Texas |
This annual club event started early with the troops gathering in Lakeway. By 7:15am everyone had arrived and once all were assembled and our TAVV Vietnam Vets were aboard, we headed for staging. This was a stop and start affair, driving down streets of ever decreasing size, but we ended up on the driving range and got in position.
The parade got underway and we pulled into it at our designated point (37th). As always, this is a long and well attended parade, with essentially the whole town out to watch. With no rain this year, the weather was perfect. Once it was over everyone chatted for a bit, then headed for home.
We had a great turnout as usual for this event. Participants included- Danny K, Madison H, Jeff M and Nurse Haley, Rick and his crew of nine with his 42 GPW and M38A1, John K, John SS, Sam R., Scott P., Tim W., Lee K., and Clint D.
