Well another one completed. The parade was well attended by the locals, as Madison said, it appeared to have more folks than past parades. Checking in was fine but finding our numbered spot was a problem. They didn't have very good signage this year and I had to go around the block once to find our spot on a side road. It was probably a good thing we didn't any large vehicles there as we had some tight areas to go through. The stakes were small and the numbers about one inch in size which my failing eyesight had a tough time reading but we found it. We had a couple of visitors but that was all. No shade for us during the 1-1/2 hour wait for the parade start time. The parade run was the normal route but the crowd seemed to be generally disinterested in our military vehicles except for about three pockets of 'whoops and hollars' for us. Madison only got two photos; me, I forgot totally. Oh well that's life. Although we were in the back of the parade (#115) we at least had a straight shot to our download are. We didn't win any trophies this year. One thing that was noticed new in Gonzales was that they are nearing completion of a city/county Veterans Honor Memorial park similar to Smithville's park.
