Show wise this was probably the smallest and lowest key one in the last 20 years.
This was not unexpected, with the Guard so heavily committed on the border, there was zero current military participation. The emergency services displays were also absent. The only participants were ourselves and the reenactor groups.
Our own participation was light by historical standards, we fielded eight vehicles and one trailer in front of the museum on the first day, and several jeeps down in the battle area. We did manage to hijack the museum's non-running Kubelwagen out into our display (it had to be moved around inside anyway to get the Hetzer out). On the second day, however, we only had four vehicles in front of the museum (five vehicles with the Kubelwagen) as several members were not able to participate on Sunday. We did have several members participate without vehicles.
In anticipation of small crowd attendance, we did not put out our normal weapons and equipment displays
There were intermittent rain showers, but none heavy enough to cause any real interruption.
The battles went well, the Allies succeeding against stiff opposition to take the field both days. While overall public attendance was less than usual, the reenactment crowds were good, filling the bleachers both days.
