This event was held for the first time at the Q2 sports field in Austin. I think that the Touch a Truck went very well. Gareth and I were there the whole day. Actually, you cannot leave until they release you at the end of the event for safety reasons. I have to keep in mind that this was my first event. I will probably do next year. I enjoyed myself and we were made to feel very welcome. Some suggestions: take plenty of water, some small ladders for the little ones, a club banner, some club handouts for those interested in our club, chairs to sit in, vehicle placards of vehicle information, don't forget to disconnect your horns. They did feed us and it might be nice to bring your military mess kit to eat out of - it just adds to the military feel. And check to make sure DUMMY Weapons are okay to display although you may not want to bring them as the kids might pull on them or may cause damage to them. The kids love to push every button and pull on everything. They did come around about 20 -30 minutes before the ending time so we could prep, our vehicles for leaving. Access was easy and there were people to tell us where to go.
