The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. at Fleet Maintenance of Texas.
General Business...
 | A discussion was held regarding National Affiliation. Bill M wasn't a national member, therefore the club was dropped. The group determined national affiliation is critical to the success of the club. The club is also not in any violation with by-laws because none exist formally. |
| A discussion was held regarding the proper name of the club. The club's name is: "Lone Star Chapter - MPVA" |
| A discussion was held regarding the formal name for the Newsletter. It was agreed to remain "The Transfer Case" |
| A discussion was held regarding the official adoption of club by-laws. Claude provided a copy of the loose by-laws for review and discussion. It was agreed to type up the new ones with the corrections and additions noted at this evenings meeting, add title descriptions for functions of officers and submit to the membership for review. |
| A discussion was held regarding the details of upcoming events. |
| A discussion was held regarding the use of the new database in membership recruitment, invoices and National Membership tracking. |
| A discussion was held on presenting to the membership a quarterly calendar of upcoming events. |
| It was agreed that Kenny would record meeting minutes. |
| A discussion was held on the upcoming Boy Scouts Report To State Parade up Congress Ave. |
| A discussion was held regarding liability insurance. Claude would call National for "Affiliated Group" insurance status/options. |
| A discussion was held regarding fund raising possibilities. At present, membership dues are the only source of income. Possible concepts included a MASH theme as done with a Houston chapter. Other concepts included design and sales of T-Shirts to club members or others, or selling surplus brass linked shell casings readily available at Ft. Hood for pennies on the pound. |
| A discussion was held on an Operating Budget. 1997 provided $290 and 1996 provided $318 in revenue. |
