Transcriber's notes:
This was transcribed from microfilm and I tried to get the spelling as it was on the film even though I knew some were incorrect.  In the age field, the notation 1+ indicates that I was unable to discern the number of months included in the age but knew it was greater than 1 year and less than two.

F. Lingering Questions

  1. What is Mabel B. Fullers maiden name?
  2. What was Hurley and Mabel’s marriage date?
  3. Was COL. Fullers son, Hurley Jr, a COL. in the USMC as Gus Hickok suggests? (His headstone reads 2nd LT US ARMY)
  4. What was COL. Fullers military career after his return from capture?  (Oil?)
  5. When did Col Fuller retire from the military?
  6. From Jack Forgy: “He was commissioned in WWI so he would have had nearly 30 years active duty in 1946. He probably retired about then”.  Did he graduate from college/OCS to receive a commission?  Was it a battlefield commission as the date might suggest?  He did not graduate from the University of Texas as confirmed by records search.  And he did not graduate from West Point as confirmed by records search.
  7. The web site URL listed in Appendix “A” lists COL. Fullers parents as each being in the service.  Further research could be done to prove/disprove this information.

G. Notes

  1. According to caretakers at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery National Cemetery, COL. Fullers first wife Nell Hodges would have lost dependent benefits as a result of the divorce and therefore not been able to be buried at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.  His son, Hurley Jr. however would have kept his dependent status regardless of the divorce and could have been buried at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.  Instead, he chose to be buried with his mother in Center Point, Texas.
  2. Jack Forgy provided insight as to dependent status.  It is his belief that once a dependent becomes an adult, they are no longer eligible to be buried with a parent in a VA/National Cemetery.
  3. In Center Point, the Mostley family knows a considerable amount about the Fullers.
