Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

Call to Order - 1910 hrs.

Introductions - Guests, New Members: Jeff H. Jeff H. presented information about Muster Day, 18-19 April. He stated that last year 10,000 visitors attended the event and that this year Camp Mabry is planning on 15,000 visitors. He asked that participants setup on 17 April or arrive early Saturday morning. He recommended that if you plan on coming on Saturday morning, you should plan on being there around 0530 to avoid traffic.
All participants must register. Participants may register on line. Parking permits will be mailed to registered participants prior to the event. Sign-in is at the museum office.
On Sunday the 19 April there will be a Viet Nam reenactment. Members interested in participating will meet at the museum on Sunday morning. The uniform is Viet Nam period.
Quartermaster Report:
John K. inventoried the current stock and reported that we do not need to order additional supplies at this time. Ed H. donated links and brass.
Treasurer's Report:
Toby C. presented the treasury report. Several members have not paid dues or insurance this year. He will contact those members for payment.
Web Site Update:
John SS presented the Web Site Report. He reported that he has lost his computer and connection. Rick H. agreed to take over the web site. Please send all after action reports to him at ghanson890@yahoo.com .
Newsletter Update:
Rick H presented the newsletter report. The next newsletter is scheduled for March. Articles are welcome.
Recent Events:
- USS Lexington Stage Door: 6 February. Danny K. reported that the event was a success. JD had his jeep on board for the event. Danny also reported that JD has had Quadruple Bypass Surgery.
- Boy Scout Parade 7 February, Sam R. reported that the Boy Scout Parade was a great parade. It was the first time that the big trucks outnumbered the quarter tons. The club transported three packs.
Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:
- Texas Independence Day Parade: 7 March. Report prior to 0930 for staging. The parade will start at 1030. Participants are planning on going for chow after the parade. Uniform is time period correct.
- Brent Mullins Open House: 20-21 March, College Station. This year the open house is on Friday and Saturday, with a reenactment scheduled for Saturday. Recommend that members bring money, a cooler with drinks, and chair. Several vendors will be present. See

- Burnet Air Show: 11 April, Burnet Texas. This is a one day event at the Burnet Airport on HW 281. Additional details will be sent as they are known. Scott S. is planning on cooking.
- Muster Day: 18-19 April, Camp Mabry. See Jeff’s report. Additional details will be sent as they are known. Scott S. is planning on cooking.
- Temple Air Show: 1-3 May. This year a Viet Nam reenactment is planned. Uniform is period correct. Additional information will be furnished.
- Temple Family Day: 16 May, Temple Texas. Theme is Armed Forces Appreciation Day. Hours are 1000-1400 hours. Additional information to follow.

Toby C. announced that the MVPA Cross Country trip theme is “Year Of the NCO. John SS. Said that he plans on making the whole trip. Additional information is available at http://www.mvpa.org/ .
Announcements:
Danny K. announced that the National Convention is scheduled for 6-8 August.
Toby C. announced that he has contacted the MVPA Directors and that a National Convention in San Antonio would be favorably considered.
