Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

19 November 2008

Call to Order - 1910 hrs.

Members present included:
Rick H, Ward B, Jason C, Mitch C, Rory C, Clint D, Ed H, Jeff M, Claude V, Madison H, Fred H, Ralph M. Sam R.

Introductions - Guests, New Members: Scott P. and Ralph M.

Quartermaster Report: None

Treasurer's Report: None

Web Site Update: None

Newsletter Update: Rick H presented the newsletter report. The Next newsletter is scheduled for publication in December.

Recent Events:

• Salerno + 65, Camp Swift (17-19 Oct.): Ed H. reported that the event was excellent with good turnout and a great deal of interest.

• Close Assault Camp Mabry (8 Nov): Ed H. reported that the event went well with good media coverage. Approximately 750 people attend the event.

• Veterans Day Tree Planting (8Nov): Rick H reported that himself, Sam R. and Danny K. attended the ceremony at Rosewood Park in Austin. Approximately 100 to 150 trees were planted followed by a ceremony honoring veterans.

• Veterans Day Hutto Event (9-10-11Nov): Rory C. reported that Sam R, Jeff L. and himself attended the event. About 900 students rotated through the displays that included vehicles, tents, equipment and medical supplies.

• Veterans Day Parade (11 Nov): Rory C. reported that we had a great turnout with 16 vehicles. Dawn provided the entertainment.

• The Bunker 1st anniversary, Robert W. (15 Nov): Fred H reported that 4 vehicles convoyed from Danny K’s house to assist Robert W. with the 1 year anniversary of the Bunker in San Marcos.

Upcoming Events:
Rory C. outlined upcoming events. Additional information will be sent as it becomes available. Information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:

•Liberty Hill Parade 7 December. Clint D will gather additional information.

Announcements:
• Due to museum construction, the December meeting may be held at a different location. Email notification will be sent prior to the next meeting.
• Fred H. announced that the VA is in need of drivers. Anyone interested in volunteering with the VA please contact Fred H. for additional information.
