Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

16 January 2007

Call to Order - 1900 hrs.

Members present included:
Danny K, Claude V, Rory C. Fred H, Madison H, Ward B, Herb T, Clint D, Toby C, Rick H, John K, and Jeff M.

Introductions - Guests, New Members: None.

Quartermaster Report: Herb T. reported that it was time to order shirts. He will coordinate with Rory C. for the sizes and number of shirts to order. Rory C. discussed the color selection of shirts to order and requested the emblem be moved up on the sleeve.

Treasurer's Report: None.

Web Site Update: Rory C. presented the Web Site Report stating the site was up to date and that John SS is doing a great job. He also requested an after action report for the UT ROTC event.

Recent Events: None

Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:

• Museum board meeting: There is a Museum board meeting scheduled for 18 January at 1000 hours. Clint D. is scheduled to attend, but any MVPA member is welcome to attend.

• Longhorn District Boy Scout Camporee: 19-20 January at County Park in Webberville. Several members are scheduled to attend. Participants are requested to be on site by 1200 hours for lunch. The event is scheduled from 2-5 pm. The uniform is weather appropriate.

• Boy Scout Parade: 2 February. Meet at the TXDOT parking lot at 0730, proceed to the bridge at 0800. The parade starts at 0900. We anticipate 30 to 60 scouts to ride with us.

• Texas Independence Day Parade: No information is available at this time.

• Brent Mullins Open House is scheduled for 28-29 March.

• Muster Day: 12-13 April. A Muster Day meeting is scheduled for 1:00 to 3:00 pm in building 8 on 24 January.

• CAF Air Show Temple 2-4 May.

Old Business: None

New Business:
• Danny K. presented a Christmas card from the Puerto Rico MVPA.
• Rory C. announced that the Lone Star MVPA is now listed in two British Magazines.
• Danny K presented Rory C. with the Most Valuable Participant Award for 2007.

Announcements:
• Toby C. reported that it took him from 27 March 2007 until 15 January 2008 to complete the registration of his vehicle. Rory C. explained some of the rules for displaying tags on military vehicles. Rory C. will furnish additional information.
