Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

 16 April 2008

 Call to Order - 1910 hrs.

 Members present included:
  Danny K, Claude V, Rory C. Madison H, Jeff M, Toby C, Rick H, John K, Mark A, Herb T, John S, Mitch C, Tim W, Ward B.

 Introductions - Guests, New Members: None.

Quartermaster Report: Herb T reported that there was no changes in the inventory.

Treasurer's Report: No Report


Web Site Update: Rick H. reported that the site was updated to include the current issue of the newsletter.



 Recent Events:
 • BMJP Open House : Danny K reported that the Open House was well attended by our club and the event was similar to BMJP past open house events.

 • Burnet Air Show : Danny K reported that the air show was a great success. The club had a large turnout. He specifically commented on the great display Madison H. set up at the show. Toby C. grilled and the Plane Girls joined us during the show. $27 was collected from the donation bomb.

Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:

 • Muster Day : 19-20 April – All participants must pre-register to participate in the event. Check-in will start Friday. Upon arrival, please check in at the Museum, and get your meal vouchers. The club members are encouraged to set up on Friday due to the large turn out anticipated for the event. Participants may stay overnight Friday and Saturday. Showers are available in Building 7. The club is not planning on cooking. Members should plan on bringing there own food for lunch Saturday and Sunday.

 • · Lakeway USO Show : 24-26 April – The Lakeway community is hosting a USO show for approximately 800 WW2 vets. John K. is scheduled to support the event with his MB. Contact John K. for additional information.

• · Temple Air Show : 2-4 May – There are no fireworks scheduled for Friday night. The Saturday and Sunday show will feature a Viet Nam reenactment rather than a WW2 reenactment this year. The event is scheduled to start at 0900 hours, please be in place by 0800 Saturday morning. You may pick up your arm band upon arrival. The club will not be cooking but will furnish a BBQ grill for those that want to cook.

• · Lockhart Parade: 14 June – We plan to meet at Danny K’s place convoy to Lockhart, parade, eat BBQ and leave. Additional details will follow.

• · Lakeway Parade: 4 July – The LSMVPA has been invited once again to attend the 4th of July Parade in Lakeway. Details to follow.

New Business:
• · Rick H. proposed that he publish a club directory. The directory will include the members’ photo, photo’s of their vehicles, and contact information. Samples of the proposed directory were passed out for review. He will be contacting the membership for photo’s and contact information.

· Danny K. passed around the Burnet Air Show magazine which included many of our members vehicles.

· Madison H. proposed the club purchase 100 gravity bombs to sell at events. It was moved that the club purchase and sell the gravity bombs to individuals 18 or older or to children only with the approval of their parent or guardian. The motion was passed. Madison H. will purchase pending approval by the treasurer as to funds availability.
