Recent Events:

·        Club Convoy (October 20th) - A good event attended by 2 Jeeps, 2 M-37s, and 2 5-tons. A Humber Pig APC was onscene already. Excellent barbeque served. There was discussion on establishing a more defined convoy policy for the future to avoid holding up normal traffic. See the event here

·        Elgin Hawkeye Festival (October 22nd) No club participation.

·        Texas A&M Football Game (October 27th) A&M had communications issues, so this event fell through.

·        Randolph AFB Airshow (November 2-3rd ) - Two day event. LS and Alamo made a good showing on Saturday, but on Sunday a single LS vehicle was the only MVPA representative. This happened last year as well.

·        Veterans Day Display, Hutto ISD (November 8th-12th) Setup was on the 8th, display on the 9th, encampment struck Nov 10th. Attended by a FAV, a Unimog, a Deuce with M105, and a 5-ton with M832 trailer. All was set up under a large camo net. A vehicle display for two more schools was conducted on the 12th. In total, approximately 1900 kids viewed the displays. Air participation was provided by flyovers of CAF P-39, B-25,and three T-6, while the Guard provided a Blackhawk helicopter for ground and aerial display. San Marcos skydivers did parachute display. It would be nice to have more club participation for this event, particularly other periods than just Cold War being represented. See the event here

·        UT ROTC 60th Anniversary (November 10th) Attended by two members with their Jeeps.

·        Zilker Park Tree Planting (November 10th) Attended by Rick H with his M38A1, and by a Guard Blackhawk helicopter.

·        Veterans Day Parade, Austin (November 11th) Good club participation with 12 vehicles. Jeff M and his Jeep did a “missing man” for Tex Hill, Danny led the 60th anniversary USAF vets with his M-37, the other 10 vehicles formed one group. Some Vets were carried in the vehicles. Parade was well attended by the public for an early Sunday morning. See the event here

·        1944 Close Assault, Camp Mabry (November 10th-11th) WWII re-enactment. Several members participated, along with providing Jeeps and a radio display. Approximately 1200 spectators attended.
