Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

20 December 2007

Call to Order - 1930 hrs.

Members present included: Rory C, Ward B, Danny K, John SS, Rick H, John A, Herb T, Madison H, Claude V, Scott S, Toby C, John K, Jeff M, Robert W, Clint D, Bill B, Mark A, Tim W, Kevin D, Morty M.

Introductions - Guests, New Members: Tim B. and son Colton and were introduced as new members. Tim B. brought his 67 M715. Mark A was also introduced as a new member.

Quartermaster Report: Herb T presented an inventory report. All inventory was on sale at the meeting.

Treasurer's Report: John A. presented the treasury report. He also presented a member list with information as to when their membership expires. Scott S. brought up the fact that about 50% of the membership is due to expire soon. Rory C. will send an email to retain as many as possible. Rory C. also informed the membership that the insurance is due. Insurance is $20 per member who operates a vehicle.

Web Site: John SS reported the website is up to date. Please submit any after-action reports ASAP.

Newsletter: Rick H reported that the December 07 issue has been mailed. Copies were furnished to the members present. Please submit any stories to Rick H. The next newsletter will be out March 08.

Recent Events:

· Lakeway (December 4-5^th) - Madison H. reported on the all guard communications event held in Lakeway

· Liberty Hill (December 9^th) Clint D reported on the Liberty Hill Christmas Parade on 9 December.

· Boerne Christmas Parade (December ) John K reported on the Boerne Christmas parade.

· All Era Militaria (November ) Danny K. reported on the All Era Militaria Show in Temple.

· Blue Santa (December 16^th) Rory C reported on the Blue Santa activities. His portion of the program benefited approximately 29 families this Christmas.

· San Antonio news update Kevin D. and Morty M. reported on the events held in south San Antonio. Additional information is available at http://www.historicbattles.org . They also talked about the availability of the Freeman Ranch for activities.

Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:

· Houston Gun Show (January 19-20^th)

· Longhorn District Boy Scout Camporee 19-20 January at County Park in Webberville.

New Business:

• Danny K. announced the museum board meeting is scheduled 18 January at 1000 hours. If any member can attend please contact Danny K.
• Danny K. requested updated copies of the membership application form. Rory C. will provide them.
• Danny K requested that John SS. or Rick H. contact David D. at the Statesman to get information on events in the car section of the Statesman. Contact Danny K for additional information.
• John SS nominated Rory C as this year’s Most Valuable Participant Award. The motion was seconded and passed.

Announcements:

• Scott S. announced that he has access to a WWII uniform if anyone is interested. Please contact Scott S. for additional information.
• Toby C. presented Rory C. with a wall hanger award.
