Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

18 October 2006

Call to Order - 1908 hrs.

Members present included: Scott S, Danny K, Ward B, Fred H, Toby C. Madison H, Herb T, Jeff M, John A, Clint D, Jim C, Rick H, Ralph M, and Rory C.

Guests/New Members: Ralph M joined the club. Guest Ray B is interested in a Jeep or possibly larger vehicle.

Quartermaster Report: QM position reassumed by Herb T, who presented an inventory report. T-shirt sales have been good; will need to reorder some sizes soon. All is well.

Treasurer's Report: John A. gave an update on the treasury and active membership (57). All is well

Newsletter: Jeff L. was unable to attend. New edition is in the works.

Web Site Update: John K was not present. Website is not up to date.

Recent Events:

· Central Texas Collectables show (September 23) Danny gave a report. Event was mostly crests and patches.

· Driftwood Parade (September 29) Rory gave a report. Attended by 3 Jeeps, 2 M37s, 1 Unimog and 1 m35. Small but fun parade.

· Gonzales parade (October 7) Scott and Toby gave a report. Attended by 5 Jeeps, 1 M151, 1 M37. A big parade, took an hour to run. LSMVPA awarded 3^rd place trophy for Group Participation.

· Fort Hood wargame/fundraiser (Oct 20-22) Rory gave a report. Attended by 2 M35s and one M813. Successful event

Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:

· Midland CAF airshow and Vietnam re-enactment (October)

· Elgin Hogeye Festival (October)

· Hutto Parade cancelled this year.

· Hutto Hippoplex Car Show (October 21st). No Military category this year. Entries limited to 1973 and prior vintage.

· Lavernia re-enactment cancelled.

· Veterans Day display, Hutto (November 10) Anyone wanting to help set up can arrive around noon on the 9^th. Opens at 8am on the 10^th.

· Veterans day parade, Austin (November 11) Staging 7:30a on bridge, meet in parking lot at 7a.

· MVPA National Convention 2007, Little Rock AR. Details will be posted at www.armvpa.com.

Old Business:

· Elections

o October – Nominating Committee

o November – Slate to be presented

o December – Vote/Install new officers

New Business:

· San Antonio chapter is now established as the Alamo MVPA, officers have been elected/installed.

Announcements:

· Member Toby C had a letter published in the Army Motors magazine.

· Ticket Draw
