* Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes 12 August 2006 (Held at Kaiserville subsequent to Club Convoy) Call to Order - 1426 hrs. Members present included: Scott S, Danny K, Claude V, Bill B, Fred H, Madison H, Jeff L, John SS, Herb T, Glen V, JD H Sr, JD H Jr, Chuck, Connie, and Rory C. Guests: Quartermaster Report: Scott S. presented an inventory report. All is well. Several t-shirts were sold during the convoy earlier in the day. Any new t-shirt orders will be made for the original green style as the pocket t-shirts are an unacceptable green. Khaki t-shirts will be the newer style (with pockets) as that colour was deemed better than the old tan. Treasurer's Report: John A. was unable to attend; Scott S gave an update on the treasury and active membership (55). Newsletter: Jeff L. handed out the latest copy to those who had not received it. New edition is in the works. Web Site Update: Up to date. Recent Events: · Service Rifle Shoot – Scott gave a report. (August 6) · Memorial Day event, Institute of Texan Culture - Chuck gave a report. (May 29).

Events included: · All Era Militaria Show in Belton (August 19) · Manor Lions Fest parade (September 9) · Central Texas Collectables show, Camp Mabry (September 23) · Gonzales “Come and Take It” parade. Limited to 8 vehicles, 6 of whom have volunteered at this time (October 7) · Midland CAF airshow and Vietnam re-enactment (October) · Elgin Hogeye Festival (October) · Hutto Parade, normally in October, cancelled this year. · Ft Hood Wargames. Three vehicles scheduled to attend (October 20-22) · Lackland AFB airshow (November 4) · Veterans Day display, Hutto (November 10) · Veterans day parade, Austin (November 11)
Old Business: · Club insurance- Insurance Fund voluntary reimbursement email has been sent out.
New Business: Announcements: · Solargizers- John SS announced that these solar-powered battery maintainers were available inexpensively, he would make a mass order for anyone interested. He will send an email out to the membership. · G Company- No longer attached to Nimitz Museum, now attached to Military Museum at Camp Mabry · Banana Bay surplus store has moved from old 29/Lamar location to larger facility at Airport/51st Street.
