Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

19 July 2006

Call to Order - 1909 hrs.

Members present included: Scott S, Jeff M, Danny K, John K, Claude V, Madison H, Rick H, Ward B, Jeff L, John SS, Fred H, Herb T, and Rory C.

Guests: We though we had a guest, but he turned out to be John SS.

Quartermaster Report: Scott S. presented an inventory report. All is well.

Treasurer's Report: John A. was unable to attend; Scott S gave an update on the treasury and active membership (55).

Newsletter: Jeff L. handed out the latest copy, which he has also made available in electronic form.

Web Site Update: John K. advised that the site is up to date.

Recent Events:

· National MVPA Convention – Toby attended, will have a full report and photos (June 22/24).

· Lakeway July 4^th Parade - Danny gave a report. The event was well attended by members and the public. Nine vehicles participated (July 4).

· Farwest July 4^th Parade – Scott gave a report on this event he participated in (July 4).

· McDade Parade - Jeff L gave a report on this event. The club won the second place trophy under the “Vehicle Group” category (July 8)

· Vision of Hope – Rory gave a report on this event for children at an Austin church. Four vehicles attended. (July 14).

Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:

· Service Rifle Shoot – (Scott) There is interest from several members in participating. (August 6)

· Club Convoy – Meet at Kaiserville anytime after 8am. Convoy to Lockhart for lunch. August meeting will be included in the event. (August 12)

· All Era Militaria Show – Bell Co. Convention Center, 10a-5p. (August 19)

· Manor Lions Parade is in September, dates are unknown at this time.

Old Business:

· Club convoy plans were firmed up.

· Club insurance- Our local LSMVPA event insurance is paid up for the next year. It can and will be prorated if/when National MVPA insurance comes online.

New Business:

Announcements: A local individual has a collection of WWll Jeep he is selling. The condition and price combination elicited little interest from the membership.
