Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes
19 April 2006
Call to Order - 1921 hrs.
Members present included: Scott S., Jeff M., Danny K., Madison H., Rick H., Fred H., JH M., Matt S., John A., John K., John SS., Glen V., Toby C., and Rory C.
Introductions: Matt S. introduced himself and his M35.
Quartermaster Report: In Herb’s absence, Scott presented an inventory report. The initial batch of new club T-shirts is available.
Treasurer's Report: John gave an update on the treasury and membership.
Newsletter: In process.
Web Site Update: The website is up to date.
Recent Events: Several recent events attended by members.
· Madison gave a report on the All Era Militaria show. It has grown since last year. (Mar 18/19)
· John K. gave a report on the Brent Mullins Open House and re-enactment (Mar 24/25).
· Danny K. gave a report on Muster Day at Camp Mabry (April 1st/2nd).
· Glen V. gave a report on the Burnet Airshow. Members were dissatisfied with the clubs displacement from the usual location this year. (April 8th)
Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site. Events included:
· Hamburger Hill Reenactment (Last weekend in April)
· Temple Airshow (May 5-7)
· MVPA National (June 22-24)
· San Marcos Airshow (Cancelled indefinitely)
· Lakeway July 4th Parade and display
· Lockhart Parade (June 10th)
· Ft Worth Militaria show (June 17-18)
Old Business:
· T-shirts were in and for sale.
· EZ-up shades- the one we borrowed worked, we will keep borrowing for now.
· Trail ride – Nothing new at this time
New Business:
· Club Convoy – Don Ling’s offer to host near College Station. Several members who don’t trailer felt it was too far to drive their vehicles. Something local will be arranged. Discussion on perhaps moving the event to a cooler month.
· Club ball caps – Discussion on making up club logo caps. Insufficient interest at this time.
