Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes

15 March 2006 

Call to Order - 1906 hrs. 

Members present included:  Scott S., Jeff M., Danny K., Claude V., Madison H., Rick H., Ward B., Curtis J., Jeff L., Fred H., JH M., Matt S., and Rory C. 

Quartermaster Report:  In Herb’s absence, Scott presented an inventory report. 

Treasurer's Report:  In John’s absence, Scott gave an update on the treasury and membership.

Newsletter:  Jeff L. gave an update and there was some discussion on future content.   There was some discussion on taking advertising for the newsletter, it was decided that would not suit our current club goals. 

Web Site Update: 

Recent Events:  Danny K. presented an after action report on the Texas Independence/Celebrate Texas Parade (March 4th). 

Upcoming Events: Danny K. outlined upcoming events.  Danny will send out additional information as it becomes available and information will be posted on the club web site.  Events included:
* All Era Militaria Show - March 18/18
* Brent Mullins Open House - March 24/25 (fri-sat)

* Muster Day – April 1/2

* Burnet Airshow – April 8

* Temple Airshow (May 5-7)

 

 

Old Business:  New club T-shirts were discussed, with Scott S giving an update on projected costs, etc.  It was decided to continue with the current style, and re-order will be proceeded with.  The design by JH M will be investigated as a second T-shirt.

EZ-up shades- Danny will borrow one for the club to try out at the next event.

Jerry Cans- found to be not feasible for a group purchase at this time.

S.A. Chapter- Some LSMVPA board members will be going to SA to assist the newly formed chapter arrange some administrative procedures.

Rory passed on to the club a very large ‘Thank you’ card that had been delivered to him at work for all the members from the Scout packs carried in the February parade.

 

New Business:

Announcements:   Miss Deaf Texas, Tara McAvoy, rode with LSMVPA in the Texas Independence Day parade as a distinguished guest.  Very sadly, she was killed this week when struck by a train.  The club will post a tribute to her on the website.
