Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes
19 October 2005

Call to Order - 1906 hrs. Members present included: Scott S., Jeff M., Danny K., Rick H., John K., Rory C., Herb T., Barry F., Madison H., Claude V., Toby C., Fred H., Jeff L., John S., JH., Bill B., and Ward B. Zach B., Dave D., and Myron B. were introduced as a guests.

Dave D. presented information on the Central Texas Militaria and Military Vehicle Show scheduled for March 2006 in Belton Texas. The Lone Star MVPA was invited to attend at no charge. See the web site at www.alleramilitaria.com for more information.

Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's Report was presented by Jeff M. Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses. Membership numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of members of the chapter who also belong to the National MVPA. Jeff M. will contact those members coming up for membership renewal.

Quartermaster Report: Herb T. reported that we were out of XL OD T-shirts. JH volunteered to assist in the design of new shirts and present the designs at the next meeting.

Newsletter: No update.

Web Site Update: Scott S. reported that updated have been made to include the latest events.

Recent Events: John K and Danny K. reported on the Camp Mabry fundraiser. Danny K. reported on the Gonzales Come and Take It parade informing the membership that we won 2d place for participation in the parade. Scott S. reported on the Oak Hill Car Show, and the Saturday Night Car Show. John SS reported on the Hutto parade and Car Show stressing the importance of safety when operating your vehicle. He was very proud of the lavender decorations on his vehicle! Scott S. reported that Madison H. took 1st place and he took 2d place in the car show. Danny K reported that at this time, the Hutto parade is still scheduled for next year.

Upcoming Events: Scott S. and Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Additional information is available on the club web site. Events included: · Texas Willys Rally - 22 October in Burton Texas · Elgin Hog Eye Festival - 22 October. Vehicles will be parked at the museum and the parking lot next to it. Plan to arrive by 9 AM. Claude V. will direct vehicles as to where to park. See the club web site for additional information · Randolph AFB Show - 5-6 November · LCRA Veterans Day Event - 9 November. Coordinate with Herb T. · Austin Veterans Day Parade - 11 November. Meet in TXDOT parking lot NLT 0730. Parade is scheduled to start at 0915. · Hutto Veterans Day Elementary School Program - 11 November. Coordinate with John S. · Bandera Event - 12 November. · Boerne Christmas Parade - December.

Old Business Claude V. provided information on the National MVPA Board candidates. Scott S. raised the issue of a club Safety Officer. Membership decided not to have a Safety Officer, but to have safety briefings and training periodically. JH. Gave a safety briefing.

New Business: Scott S. informed the membership that club elections are scheduled for November. All positions are open for nominations. Scott S. will send an email to the membership with additional information.
