Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association
Meeting Minutes - 20 August 2005
Call to Order - 1315 hrs. at Danny K's home.
Members present included: Scott S., Jeff M., Danny K., Rick H., John K., Rory
C., Herb T., Madison H., Claude V., Clint D., Fred H., Jeff L., John SS., and
Glen V. Guests included Gail K., Nancy H. and Colton D.
Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's Report was presented by Jeff M.
Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses. Membership
numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of members of the
chapter who also belong to the National MVPA. Jeff M. reported that he had sent
notification to the membership with insurance details.
Quartermaster Report: Herb T. reported that the stock levels were good. Frank
H. requested that the next time an order for shirts was made that the club get
shirts with pockets.
Web Site Update: Scott S. reported on the status of the website and will place
the sponsorship form on the site for use by members.
Newsletter: Scott S. reported that the newsletter is on track.
Past Events: Scott S. presented an after action report on the Rifle Shoot.
Upcoming Events: Scott S. and Danny K. outlined upcoming events. Events
included:
· ARC Highpower Shoot - 4 September at the Austin Rifle Club range. The Austin
Rifle Club is hosting a monthly highpower gun shoot on 4 September at the ARC
range. The cost is $10 to participate. For more information go to

· Texas World War II Event - 2 September at South Lawn of the State Capitol
commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII. Danny K. will send out
details as they are available.
· Manor Lions Parade - 17 September.
· Rosanky Swap Meet - 15-17 September
· Driftwood Parade 24 September.
· Muster Day - 1,2 October at Camp Mabry. Members present decided to provide
support to G Company as needed but not to provide transportation to the general
public during Muster Day.
· Fort Worth Militara show - 8, 9 October
· Hutto Parade - 15 October.
· Texas Willys Rally - 22 October in Burton Texas
· Veterans Day Parade - 11 November.
Old Business
Claude V. provided an update on the MVPA National Convention and the Board of
Director controversy. Scott S. reported that the sponsorship documentation is
complete and provided a copy to Clint D. Clint D. will take the document to
Maxwell Auto Group.
New Business:
Jeff M. reported that the annual insurance premium has been paid. Members that
wish to donate to this contact Jeff M. Bi-weekly updates will be provided via
email.
Announcements
Clyde V. announced that the area around the Elgin Museum is available for out
use during the Hog-Eye Festival.
All members present thanked Danny K. and his wife Gail for hosting the club
social event.
