Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes - April 2005 Call to Order - 1911 hrs. Members present included: Scott S., Jeff M., Danny K., Rick H, John K., Rorry C, Ward B., John S., Herb T., Emily T., JH Montgomery, Clint D., Madison H., and Jim H. Madison H. was introduced as a new member. Introductions were made. Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's Report was presented by Jeff M. Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses. Membership numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of members of the chapter who also belong to the National MVPA Web Site Update: Scott S. reported that the website has been updated to include the Burnet Air Show. Newsletter: Scott S. reported the newsletter status has not changed, and that it should be out soon. Past Events: An after action report was provided on Brent Mullens Open House, and Scott S. reported on the Burnet Air Show. There was an excellent turnout at the air show with a total of 13 vehicles. Upcoming Events: Upcoming events were outlined by Danny K. Events included: · Pack 395 - 22 April · Temple Air Show - 6,7,8 May · San Marcos Air Show - 21-22 May · Memorial Day - 30 May · Texas Model A Tour - "The Greatest Generation" - 23 June Plans for the Temple Air Show - 6,7,8 May were discussed. Setup will be anytime Friday. Request that everyone be set up by 0800 on Saturday for a 0900 start time for air show events. You may get your armband after you arrive. We will be located at the reenactment area. Those with WWII vehicles may participate in the reenactment. You may camp or stay in one of the motels in the area. Danny K. has negotiated a special room rate at the Travel Lodge. Scott S. will bring the BBQ pit and we will be having breakfast and lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday. Bring your own drinks. Old Business Clint D. requested a write up of the club to present to the Maxwell Auto Group to display our vehicles at the local Dodge dealership. Scott S. will provide the information. Scott S. reported that we have received the National Convention Application packet and that he will review it and report next month. New Business: John S. and Rory C. proposed that we include members EBAY user name in our membership roster so that we would not bid against each other on EBAY. Jeff M. will send an email to the membership requesting this information. Scott S. proposed that the club create the position of Quartermaster to manage all club supplies. Scott S. will send an email to the membership to outline the duties and see if anyone is interested in the position. Announcements: JH Montgomery is selling his M35 2 ½ Ton. EBAY auction number 4543884826. Danny K. reported on Robin P.'s status. There being no further business or announcements, a motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 2024 hrs.
