Call to Order - 1909 hrs. Members present included: Scott S., Jeff M., Danny K., Claude V., Rick H, John K., Rory C, Ward B., John B., Toby C., and Jim H. Bo H. was introduced as a guest. Introductions were made. Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's Report was presented by Jeff M. Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses. Membership numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of members of the chapter who also belong to the National MVPA. Seven members were dropped from the roles. Web Site Update: Scott S. reported that the website has been updated to include the Iwo Jima, Texas Independence Day Parade, and the Island Assault. Newsletter: Scott S. reported the newsletters are being worked on, and encouraged the members to submit any articles that they may have. Past Events: An after action report was provided by John K. on the Iwo Jima event. Danny K. reported on the Texas Independence Day Parade, and Jeff M. reported on the Island Assault. The club had a good turnout at all events. Upcoming Events: Upcoming events were outlined by Danny K. Events included: · Brent Mullens Open House - 18 - 19 March · Smithville Jamboree - 2 April · Burnet Air Show - 9 April · Temple Air Show - 6,7,8 May · San Marcos Air Show - 21-22 May · Memorial Day - 30 May · Texas Model A Tour - "The Greatest Generation" - 23 June. Plans for the Burnet Air Show - 9 April were presented. We will be meet at the airfield at approximately 0800 hrs, with the show starting at 0900. The uniform is period correct. We plan to be located in the same location as last year. The club will be carrying VIP's during the parade. Additionally, we will host lunch for the WWII French Foreign Legion, and Viet Nam Vets. Bring your own meat and drinks. Old Business Scout S. reported that he is writing a sponsorship proposal with a local car dealership. He also reported that he has the 100lb bomb for static display during events. Scott S. reported that he has acquired 100 20mm rounds and 150 .50 cal rounds for sale during events. New Business: Toby C. has talked to Jeep Masters and invited them to our meetings and discussed the possibility of our participation in trail rides with their Jeep club. The initial event would be on the beginners trail in Fredericksburg. Announcements: Danny K. reported that the NRA National Convention is scheduled for 15-17 April at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Presentations: Rick H. brought his Bren 303 Light Machinegun. Toby C. presented his slides from his trip to Normandy for the 60th anniversary of D-Day. There being no further business or announcements, a motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 2021 hrs. |
