Meeting Minutes - February 2005

Call to Order - 1909 hrs.

Members present included: Scott S., Jeff M., Danny K., Claude V., Rick H, John K., Herb T., John S., Clint D., Ronny W., Fred H, and Rory C.

Scott S. proposed that the minutes be posted directly to the web after the monthly meeting. The proposal was passed.

Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's Report was presented by Danny K. Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses. Membership numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of members of the chapter who also belong to the National MVPA. Those members that are up for membership renewal to the National MVPA were be notified by Jeff M. Scott S. will contact the members that are not current to check their status.

Web Site Update: Scott S. reported that the website has been updated to include the Boy Scout Parade. 

Members were requested to provide pictures and after action reports.

Newsletter: Scott S. reported the newsletters are being worked on, and encouraged the members to submit any articles that they may have.

Past Events: An after action report was provided by Danny K. on the Boy Scout Parade. The club had a good turnout with 7 jeeps, 1 Unimog, and 1, 2 ½ Ton. We carried elements from 3 Packs, 1 Scout troop, and 1 Venture Troop.

Upcoming Events: Upcoming events were outlined by Danny K. Events included:
· Iwo Jima + 60 19-20 February in Fredericksburg,
· Texas Independence Day Parade - 5
· Brent Mullens Open House - 18 - 19 March
· Smithville Jamboree - 2 April
· Burnet Air Show - 9 April
· Temple Air Show - 6,7,8 May
· San Marcos Air Show - 21-22 May

Plans for the Texas Independence Day Parade - 5 March were presented. We will be meet at the TXDOT parking lot at approximately 0730 hrs, 0830 line up on the Congress St. bridge. The parade is scheduled to start at 1030. The uniform is period correct.

Old Business
Scout S. presented the results of the online survey conducted last month. 22 responses from a sample of 47 were received. Specific results were presented and discussed.
Claude V. agreed to look into the McDade area for the annual convoy in August.
Rory C. agreed to look into getting a 100lb bomb as a static display during events for donations.
Clint D. agreed to contact Maxwell Jeep for possible sponsorship.

New Business:
John S. requested assistance in finding pallets for a newly acquired trailer. Scott S. will send details to the membership.
Scott S. will purchase an additional 150 dummy 50 cal rounds and approximately 25, 20mm rounds to sell at events. All previously purchased rounds have been sold.

There being no further business or announcements, a motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 2039 hrs.
