Call to Order - 7:20 p.m.

General introductions were made by the President.

The minutes of the August and September 2004 meetings were approved.

The Treasurer's Report was presented by Jeff M. No problems or concerns were raised regarding financials. Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses. Membership numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of members of the chapter who also belong to the National MVPA. The number of chapter members was noted to be 57 with 13 not belonging to National. Expense categories of significance were outlined as insurance, T-shirts, koozies, and brass.

No significant developments or updates were provided regarding the website. After action reports were requested along with pictures from recent events. The latest issue of the newsletter was noted to still be in production.

Recent events were highlighted by Danny K. and the members present including the Driftwood Parade, Muster Day, and the CFC Aviation Open House celebrating the birthday of the Bell '47 helicopter.

Upcoming events were outlined by Danny K. and club members based on available information.
Included in the list of upcoming events were descriptions, dates, and logistical details. Emphasis was placed on the Veterans' Day Parade. Other events referenced were the Great Western Show and the Houston Gun Show as well as the park rededication in honor of Sgt. Edward S. Garcia (USAF). Discussion also followed about the status of the LaVernia reenactment, and it was reported that final information is not available. The Iwo Jima +60 event was described and members were referred to the related website. It was further noted that as in the past additional information will be provided at future meetings, on the website, and by email as needed. Danny K. reported that the two showings of the documentary "Shadow of the Blade" sponsored by Vietnam Veterans and scheduled for November 7, 2004, had been cancelled due financial considerations. It was further reported that refunds for tickets would be provided at a later date.

National news was generally discussed. No major items were noted; however, there was discussion about creating a club patch to send to National for its planned display board.

Non-dues revenue was discussed with a general recap for members in attendance.

There being no old business raised for discussion, new business was taken up. Danny K. reported that the Texas Independence Day Parade was being planned and it looks as if it will be held on March 5, 2005. Brief discussion followed regarding cancellation of the 2004 parade.

Announcements were made next. The first announcement was regarding a report in the Camp Mabry museum newsletter that the first combat death of a Texas Army National Guardsman since WWII had recently occurred. After a moment for members to comment on this unfortunate casualty, additional announcements were made. The announcements included the availability of flag decals and magnets, J.H.M.'s planned vehicle sale, and the recent discovery of old style camo material available through a local merchant.

A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
