Call to Order - 7:37 p.m.

General introductions were made of the members present.  Member Ronny W. was welcomed to the meeting.   Members present included: Tim W., Jeni L., Ward B., Jeff M., Danny K., Claude V., Fred H., John K., Jim H., and Ronny W.

The minutes of the May 2004 meeting were unanimously approved.  The Treasurer's Report was presented by Jeff M.  No problems or concerns were raised regarding financials.  Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses.  Membership numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of members of the chapter who also belong to the National MVPA.  Expense categories of significance were outlined as insurance, T-shirts, koozies, and brass.  With donations for the non-dues revenue items, the income should balance out the bulk of the expenses and the chapter should begin to be caught up toward the end of the year.

No significant developments or updates were provided regarding the website other than to reiterate that there are a considerable number of updates that are being routinely added.  Members were requested to provide pictures and after action reports.  Fred H. commended Scott S. for his work.

An "almost final" draft of the upcoming issue of the newsletter was circulated and proofed by the members present. Discussion followed about the difficulty associated with producing a newsletter and suggestions for content were considered.  Appreciation was voiced for the contribution of articles by Glen V. and John K.

After action reports were provided on recent events including the Victory Christian Center celebration, July Independence Day parades, the McDade Watermelon Festival Parade, and the National MVPA Convention.  An announcement was made that the club received an award for "First Place - Best Vehicle Group" for its participation in the McDade Parade.  It was noted that a detailed after action report had been added to the website with a number of pictures.

Upcoming events were outlined by Danny K. and club members based on available information.  Included in the list of upcoming events were descriptions, dates, and logistical details.  Emphasis was placed on the Club Convoy to Rosanky.  Other events referenced were the Longhorn Corvette Club's Vettes at Dell charity fundraiser for the Pegasus School, the reflagging of the 36th Infantry Division, the Fort Worth Militaria Show, Camp Mabry Muster Day, the Gonzales "Come and Take It" Parade, the park rededication in honor of Sgt. Edward S. Garcia (USAF), and the November 11 Veterans' Day Parade.  More information is expected to be forthcoming from Toby C. who made D-Day events in France.  It was further noted that as in the past additional information will be provided at future meetings, on the web site, and by email as needed.

National news was reported and generally discussed.

Non-dues revenue was discussed with a general recap for members in attendance.  Tim W. reported that the new T-shirt order was in and shirts are now once again available in khaki and green.  It was suggested that an email be sent out to the club members to let them know that shirts are available.

The efforts to create a San Antonio or Alamo Chapter of the MVPA were revisited with an update from Danny K.  A plan was discussed to lend assistance as needed, but concerns were expressed about the difficulty being experienced by those trying to organize the new chapter.  Discussion followed about possible options including the creation of a subchapter of the Lone Star MVPA.  Danny K. and Tim W. agreed to try to follow up with the San Antonio organizers.

Old business was addressed and focused on efforts for better coordination between vehicle owners, the CAF, and reenactors.  It was reported that Toby C. had raised common concerns with National Board member Linda Haas while at the National Convention.  Ongoing efforts were outlined to address mutual concerns including issues of tactical command and coordination with reenacting units and the CAF.  Members were reminded of the summit on these issues to be held at the Fort Worth Militaria Show on August 28.  Several members indicated that they would be in attendance including Danny K. and Tim W.  An update was also provided on the tightening up of judging standards for National events.

New business included the Austin Antique Gun Club's invitation to see the delayed legacy presentation by Mr. Netting regarding his father who was a pilot killed in World War II. The presentation is now scheduled for August 30. Fred H. provided details.  A motion was made, seconded, discussed, and passed to donate $50.00 to the Veterans' Parade to offset costs for this worthwhile event.

Announcements followed regarding the Iwo Jima event to be held outside of Fredericksburg in February and access to inexpensive equipment through the Sportsman's Guide and its related website.

A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
