**DRAFT** Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association Meeting Minutes – September
17, 2003 Call
to Order – 7:12 p.m. Introductions
were made of members and visitors. New
member Rick H. was welcomed along with visitor James S.
Members in attendance included: Barry
F., Herb T., Ward B., Jeff M., Jim W., Jim H., Claude V., Rick H., and Danny K. Minutes
of the August 20, 2003 meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved. The
Treasurer’s Report was presented by Jeff M.
Year-to-date income was noted along with year-to-date expenses.
No problems or concerns were raised regarding financials.
Membership numbers were reported along with the estimated percentage of
members of the chapter who also belong to the national MVPA.
Membership was reported as 61 members.
The percentage of national membership was estimated to be approximately
80%. An
update on continuing efforts with the newsletter “The Transfer Case” was
provided with a brief explanation regarding delays in production. No
website updates or modifications were reported. Danny K. asked members to review the website and bring any
errors to the attention of Scott S. It
was also noted that the website has reached maximum capacity and that efforts
are underway to expand the site. Danny
K. provided an after action report on the Annual Convoy and Trail Ride which was
described as another outstanding event. Details
and photographs were reported to be on the website. Upcoming
events were outlined by Danny K. and included the following:

It
was further noted that additional information on upcoming events can be found on
the club web site and will be provided at future meetings as well as by email. A
brief update was presented on national news indicating that if you are going and
not well along in your plans, then you are behind.
Non-dues
revenue options were passed until a future meeting. Old
business was addressed with Danny K. explaining that the club has permission to
build a case for the museum to display club items.
A cabinetmaker has been located who will place a bid.
A request was made for any other ideas from the membership.
Danny K. also asked for a source to make a WWII sign to be placed on a
post for display with the club’s WWII vehicles at such events like Muster Day. No
new business or items for the good of the club were raised and there were no
announcements. A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m. |
