The meeting was called to order at 7:17pm

General Business...

bulletThe Secretary was absent thus no minutes were available.  As always, the minutes can be found on the club web site under the Members Section.
bulletThe Treasurer reported there were currently 48 members of which 42 were National members yielding a 87.5% rate.  The club has donated $230 from general funds to assist Camp Mabry Museum efforts in maintaining the museum.  To date, approximately $165 has been collected from members to cover the donation.  In addition, the treasury balance was read and accepted.  The Treasurer also reported that current membership rosters will be sent out after the April meeting.  The picture below is (l to r) Treasurer Jeff, VP Tim, President Danny and Don C of the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry.

Old Business...

bulletLaredo.  The "Worst" event according to Don.  He indicated nobody came and he will not be going back next year.  The airshow rules kept changing and the final word was no German uniforms or vehicles would be allowed.  Jim and Don hauled Jim's command car to the event.
bulletJohn K took his MB to an event in Oklahoma and reported it was a lot of fun.
bulletMarch 2nd was the coldest event thus far in the clubs history. There was a good turn-out of vehicles and spectators in spite of the 25 degree windy weather.  News 8 also had a good spot on the vehicles running up Congress Ave.

 

New Business...

bulletThis upcoming Saturday is Brent Mullins 3rd Annual Open House in College Station.  Kent C from Hallsville is planning on attending.
bulletApril 13 is the Burnet Airshow.  The club will be in the same place next to the concrete pad.  We should be in place by 8:00am.  Show starts at 9:00am.  Static display runs till noon and the flying from noon to 4pm.  Uniform of the day is period correct.  There will be a donations/breakfast area open at 6:30am on-site.  We will be bringing a bbq pit again this year.  Bring your own meat.  Scott will bring the 'beverages' of variety.
bulletTaylor has their Cotton Pickin' Fest coming up after our April meeting.  More info for this April 27th event later.
bulletMay 4,5,6 is the Georgetown Air Show.  Period correct uniform is expected and we are to be in place no later than 4:00pm Friday.  Show starts Sat and Sun at 10:00am
bulletKars for Kids is scheduled for May 11.  A motion to give $150 was made, seconded and approved.
bulletSan Antonio Cinco De Mayo is scheduled for May 4.  Possibly the SA folks will attend.
bulletFt. McPhearson (Atlanta, GA) is having an event June 14.  No interest was expressed by the club to attend.
bulletThe Alamo Council of Governments (COG) is having a Pony Express RUn called "Christmas along the border" December 7th.  The event winds up at Ft. Sam Houston.
bulletThe MVPA National Convention is June 27-29 in Dallas.  Fair Park is the location.  Toby indicated he has secured 3 tables on an end-cap.
bulletThe museum is trying to get a M24 Chaffee Light Tank running.  It's now in the shop.
bulletThe quad-50's on the half-track were removed for an airshow.

 

General Information and Good of the Club...

bulletDanny indicated there is a good supply of club t-shirts.  Nametags, business cards and koozies are all still available to any member interested.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:24pm.
