The meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm.

General Business...

bulletDanny opened the meeting by welcoming our guests and introductions.
bulletThe Meeting Minutes from the last meeting were read and accepted.
bulletThe Treasurers Report was read and accepted.  The club currently has 40 paid members.

 

Old Business...

bulletA discussion was held regarding the club/field jackets.  No decisions were made.
bulletThanks were given to Lewis S and his successful Wimberley Trail Ride.  The event was perfect and Danny received a letter from National indicating we followed the rules to the "T".  The only casuality was the loss of a single "Slow Moving Triangle" from Danny's trailer.
bulletA discussion was held regarding the Manor Parade.  The club received great praise for the 8th Annual event, the club's first time there.
bulletGonzales was "wet" but the largest parade in their history.
bulletLewis mentioned he attended the Driftwood Pioneer Days parade.
bulletDanny presented Expert Driver Awards given at the National MVPA meeting.  He encouraged all to track their miles and events to get one.

 

New Business...

bulletHutto will be attended by Scott and maybe Bill M.  Staging will be at the middle school.  We must be in place by 9:00am for a 10:00 start.  A static display will follow afterwards.
bulletFor the VI Corps show in Dallas, Scott indicated he will not take his jeep nor will Danny.  The show is from 9-6 and a table was not secured by the club for sales/recruitment.
bulletBill M provided an update on Muster Day.  He said he has missed a few meetings but it's the same every year where we setup on the parade grounds and dress in period correct uniforms.  Saturday is short activities with a large battle on Sunday.  We need to setup by 9:00am Saturday.  The parade of armor starts at 10:00 Sat.
bulletDanny provide he has one more committee meeting for the Austin Veterans Day Parade scheduled for Nov 11.  The parade will start at 9am and the route is up Congress Ave.  Staging will be on the Congress Ave. Bridge.  So far, Danny, Scott, Fred and VFW Post 8955 will be a group.
bulletMore information will follow from Jim W on the San Antonio Veterans Day parade.
bulletKenny informed the group he is still trying to follow up with Steve Draeper at Ft. Hood for the Korean War event.
bulletUT is having a re-dedication ceremony at the UT/A&M football game.  UT would like a few vehicles on the North side of the stadium for a display.  The ROTC will provide 24 hour security for the vehicles.  The possibility of ticket to the game is floating around.

 

General Information and Good of the Club...

bulletGeorge O provided he will have the slate of candidates at the next meeting.
bulletNovember 11 is a dinner/dance at the CAF hanger in San Marcos.  Cost is $25 per person.
bulletIt was reported that nobody has stepped forward to chair the 2001 San Marcos air show.
bulletIt was reported that an M715 is for sale
bulletDanny informed the group our meeting room remains in peril but the museum might be our ticket to future meeting places.
bulletDanny encouraged all members to get out and vote in the upcoming elections.
bulletA discussion was held regarding the website and what the membership wanted from it.
