The meeting was called to order at 7:16 pm.

General Business...

bulletThe Meeting Minutes were read and approved as corrected.
bulletThe Treasurers Report was read and accepted.  The club currently has 38 paid members.
bulletScott asked each member to take time to review the information contained in the Verification form sent out.

 

Old Business...

bulletA discussion was held on the update of the TxDot license plate query.  Lewis S presented an idea for his VFW post to contact other districts.  Other topics included an email blitz or an insert in the next TMHS brochure.
bulletGeorge O had no new news on the jackets
bulletThe Bastrop parade was a success.
bulletToby reported on the National Convention.  In excess of 8000 members at present.  National is forming a 501C3 to receive reference library materials from the US ARMY.  The next convention will be at Ft. Lee VA July 18-20.  The big topic of discussion centered around the Form 6 categorization of Significant and Non-Significant Military Equipment (SME) and the demil laws currently proposed.

 

New Business...

bulletThe Executive Board met and presented two changes to the by-laws for administrative purposes.  The Meetings and Term of Office by-laws were approved as submitted.
bulletThe Trail Ride at Camp Mabry is now $100 to secure the facility.  Lewis will work on a proposal for a trail ride through the hill country set for Sep 23 and combined with the club meeting.  Pencil in a 9:00am arrival for a 10:00am departure.  More details to follow.
bulletSteve Draeper, Director of the Ft. Hood Museum wants the club to participate in a Korean War 50th Anniversary event at their post.  Kenny will take the lead on this one.
bulletScott informed the group of Bucks Bike Salvage in Round Rock as a good supplier of older bicycles for 'restoration/transformation' into military bikes.
bulletA discussion centered around the New Member Packets.  It was agreed to leave out the Vehicles section.
bulletA discussion was held regarding the use of Office Max for our large scale printing efforts.   It was agreed by the group to continue the use of them for newsletters, and large printing needs.

 

General Information and Good of the Club...

bulletAn informal antique car show is scheduled for Sep 23/24 at the NW District Recreation Park.  No other info available.
bulletDanny provided a handout on firearms statistics.
