The meeting was called to order.

General Business...

bulletThe Meeting Minutes from last months meeting were read and accepted.
bulletThe Treasurers Report was read and accepted.  There are currently 32 paid members.

 

Old Business...

bulletToby reported the Truck Trader concept for placing an advertisement would run $55 for three weeks.  No further action was taken on Truck Trader.  Scott, JH and Claude indicated they would investigate the possibility of a query of TxDot's database for military registrations in the Travis and surrounding areas such as Purple Heart, Vietnam Veteran etc.
bulletBrent Mullins open house was a success with over 150 people attending.
bulletThe Goliad event was a 'good event' with the club winning some 'hardware' (trophy)
bulletThe Burnet Air Show was a 'good event'.
bulletA discussion regarding club liability insurance was held.  Danny indicated he would investigate.

 

New Business...

bulletThe Traveling Vietnam Wall Experience is scheduled for 2:00pm Friday and continuing through midnight Sunday.  The wall is a scale replica that travels the country.  A request was made for two quarter-tons to be present.  Danny and Scott will provide their vehicles.  Danny also asked that anyone interested in attending to also sign up for a 15 minute block of time to read a listing of the names on the wall.
bulletThe Georgetown Air Show will have a re-enactment BOTH Saturday and Sunday.  A meeting is scheduled for 1:30pm this Saturday to finalize plans for the show.  Spectators can obtain a 3 day pass for $20.
bulletA discussion was held to purchase 4 packs of Polaroid film and jackets.  Claude agreed to provide club labels for the photo jackets.  We will charge $5 for each picture.
bulletKars for Kids remains scheduled for May 13.  Rain date of May 20.  Show starts at 10:00am until 4pm.  We will meet at the Austin American Statesman parking lot at 8:30am and convoy over at 9:00am.  Sonic Drive-In will provide Liability Insurance for the event.
bulletA discussion was held regarding a contribution to the "World Family Kids Camp".  The club agreed to fund $100 to this cause.
bulletJune 10th is the Chisholm Trail parade in Lockhart.
bulletJuly 4th Schertz parade has been scratched by the club.
bulletJuly also has the McDade Watermelon Festival.
bulletOct 7th is the Gonzales Come and Take It Parade
bulletOct 21st is the Hutto Old Tyme Days parade
bulletNov 4,5 is the VI Corp Show in Dallas.

 

General Information and Good of the Club...

bulletSams Surplus in Big Spring is scheduling a large auction June 10
bulletThere will be no San Marcos Air Show this year.  There will however be a hanger dance.'
bulletA discussion was held to not participate in the US ARMY's 225th Anniversary events.
bulletA discussion was held regarding the Wal-Mart WWII Memorial.
bulletScott was asked to send a current roster to the membership.
bulletHugh D relayed some 'bad' experiences with International Repo-Depot in Houston.
bulletA discussion was held regarding the nomination of Fred F to the WWII Veterans Memorial.
