Event: Temple Air Show (formerly the Georgetown Air Show)
Status Firm
Date: 2-4 May
Location: Temple, Texas
Coordinator: Danny K
Contact # 512.385.0168
Synopsis: A nice air show in Temple.  We typically setup on Friday before the event and hang around for both days with a static display.
Details: Setup is typically Friday.  Must be in place Saturday morning by 8:00am for this two day event.

Enter thru the 2nd gate and ask for the "re-enactment area".  Look for our group.  Rain or Shine event!  Wristbands will be handed out AFTER arrival.  Tell the gate people you are with the "re-enactor group" if they ask.  Shouldn't be a problem.

From Austin, take IH35 North to Temple.  Exit the "Gatesville" exit (#299 Hwy 190).  Head West on 190.  Go about 2.2 miles to a big intersection (Hwy 36) and turn left at the light.  Go another 2.7 miles or so and you will see signs for the airport.   Ask for the re-enactment area.

Reservations are requested in advance by mentioning "Temple Air Show".

Additional Info: May 2,3 and 4 is the date for the CAF-Temple Air Show. If you were at the show last year, this year will basically have the same schedule with a Vietnam reenactment and most likely the downed pilot scenario. For new members attending the show for first time, the air show is at the Temple Airport. You can start arriving on Friday and we will be set up again in the same area as G Co. and other assorted re enactors and period encampments. We have acres of space so you can being any type military vehicle you like and as much equipment as you like for display or creature comfort. A lot of the members camp out for the weekend and there are numerous hotels and motels close by if you prefer. I'm not 100% sure at this time but in the past we have received meal tickets for Sat. and Sun lunch and there has been a BBQ meal for all of the volunteers on Sat. night. Breakfast is on you and all of the campers usually do their own cooking. I'm ready to start making a list of those attending and more discussion on this event at the meeting.
