Yet another fun event!
Scott gave Herb a buzz since both were bachelors this
weekend, and also called Danny to see if he was
interested in participating in the car show. All three thought it
would be a fun way to kill a Saturday night. With that in
mind, Scott met Herb at his place about 5:30. Prior to
leaving Herb's, Scott just had to take his jeep in the flooded
retention pond next to Herb's place. With only a few inches
left of standing water, the little M38A1 slogged through like a
trooper. After that little excursion, they drove the short 1
mile to the Albertson's parking lot. Scott drove his 1953 M38A1
and Herb was in his 1944 GPW made by Ford.
We arrived and much to our surprise, we were the first ones
there. We set-up 'camp' of our coolers and chairs and waited
for the others to arrive. One by one, others began to
show-up. About 6 or so, Danny arrived in his CJ7 so we had
three jeeps on-site. About 6:30 or so, a new TJ showed up
and parked next to Danny's CJ so it was pretty cool with four
jeeps old and new.
The show was a blast as usual. About 50 cars were present
including beautifully restored vehicles and trucks. There
were the kit-cars and street-rods in addition to some plain old
'sleepers'. In addition to the vehicles, the general
'scenery' was pretty good to boot!
About 8:15 or so, we decided to call it an evening and packed
up for the short trip home. Another Saturday night car show
in the books...
