Another hot and fun little event!
Every year, the club tries to make the annual McDade parade.
Danny, Herb and Scott trailered their vehicles (M151A2/M416, GPW, M38A1)
and Claude and Jeanne drove the WWII Ambulance. We found a nice
shade tree and set up shop waiting on the judges to make their
rounds. As usual, Scott had to 'schmooze' them by striking up
conversation about being privately owned, the national club, local chapter
etc. It paid off as we won a few ribbons for best vehicle group.
Once the judging was over, Herb broke out some of his radio gear and
they guys played with it for a bit. Then, the gals from Hearts And
Hooves came over with their little horses. We all were treated to
their program and what they do. Check 'em out at: http://heartsandhooves.org
The parade started promptly and we were off to a great wait!
However, the parade finally started moving on our end and we made it
through the little town. The crowd was great with everyone waving
and we had a pretty good turn-out with four vehicles.
Count on this one next year.
